Wine and Spirit Specialist, Certified Sommelier, Trainer
Gyula is a Certified Specialist of Wine and Spirits through the Society of Wine Educators, where he completed his Diploma in Wine and Spirits from the London-based Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). Gyula has been in the gastronomy business for over 30 years. He was working in Budapest but spent some valuable time abroad. He deepened his skills and knowledge in hospitality while working for Crystal Cruises – the World’s most Awarded American six-star luxury Cruise Line as a Sommelier. He took the opportunity to broaden his knowledge of wine at the most prominent sommelier school, The Court of Master Sommelier (CMS). Two years later he was promoted for Relief Assistant Head Sommelier and the following year he stepped up to Permanent Assistant Head Sommelier. Since 2018 in his role as the Head Sommelier in the Mediterranean and Italian restaurant La Fabbrica Kitchen & Bar in Budapest manages wine buying, creating energised and seasonal wine lists, and focuses on exceptional guests’ service delivery.
Today, Gyula brings his expertise in wine, catering, the hospitality industry, event management, beverage and menu costing to both new and established bars and restaurants.
Gyula would be appreciated to help IQEP’s customers to increase the employees’ wine and spirit knowledge, mainly across the younger generations, improve the situation awareness, good communication skills and overall wine & spirit sales.
